Hello, readers. It is with a heavy heart that I write these words.
For my entire life, my grandfather was there for me, praying for me and helping me through life. He was a major force in my life. The care he gave to his sick, dying wife was an example to every member of my family. He was a very active member of our parish, always going to Mass, and talking to all of his friends.
When his health started going downhill in the past 8 or so months, I truly thought he would push through, as he had done in the past.
During the night on July 25th, 2008, my grandfather passed away, peacefully, in his sleep.
During his tenure in this life, he touched so many others, such as his neighbors or his fellow parishoners. Even though we mourn him, we must keep in mind that all of our lives, and indeed this whole world, is a better place because of him.
We miss you, Grandpa.

This is a beautiful tribute to Grandpa and I am sure that your words have made him happy --- you are a good grandson....and you were lucky to have a Grandfather who set such a fine example of what is important in life....
